MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

Meeting No. 42

Tuesday, March 21, 2000

The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met at 11:04 a.m. this day, in Room 701, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Wayne Easter, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Yvan Bernier, John Cummins, John Duncan, Wayne Easter, Gerald Keddy, Bill Matthews, Lawrence O'Brien, Marcel Proulx, Lou Sekora, Paul Steckle and Peter Stoffer.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Alan Nixon.

Witness: As Individual: Joe Graceffo.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), consideration of the Canada-U.S. Tuna Treaty.

Joe Graceffo made an opening statement and answered questions.

John Duncan moved, - That the Committee write to the Minister urging him to ensure that year 2000 sport fishing regulations be announced as soon as practically possible.

And debate continuing.

By unanimous consent at 12:14 p.m., the Committee met in Camera.

At 12:40 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
