The Standing Committee on Natural Resources and Government Operations met at 11:00 a.m. this day, in Room 536, Wellington Building, the Chair, Brent St. Denis, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Réginald Bélair, Gilles Bernier, Roy Cullen, John Duncan, Marlene Jennings, Ghislain Lebel, Carolyn Parrish, Werner Schmidt, Ben Serré, Brent St. Denis.
Acting Members present: Jocelyne Girard-Bujold for Pierre deSavoye; Lou Sekora for Gerry Byrne.
Associate Member(s) present: Angela Vautour.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Jack Stilborn, Research Officer.
Witnesses:From the Canada Post Corporation: Georges C. Clermont, President and Chief Executive Officer; Michel Tremblay, Vice-President, Retail Business; Allan Bisback, General Manager, Retail Business.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), consideration of the dispute between the Canada Post Corporation and its postal franchisees.
The witnesses made opening statements and answered questions.
At 12:55 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
