Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(f) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, February 23, 2017, the Committee commenced its study of Air Canada’s implementation of the Official Languages Act.

David Rheault and Arielle Meloul-Wechsler made statements and, with Chantal Dugas and Serge Corbeil, answered questions.

At 11:39, by unanimous consent and pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the Committee continue to sit for ten (10) minutes.

At 12:30, the sitting resumed.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

At 12:58 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 1:02 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Marie-Josée Pagé and Francis Manfredi made statements and answered questions.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $6,800, for the study of Air Canada’s implementation of the Official Languages Act, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $25,800, for the study of the issues related to the enumeration of rights-holders under section 23 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, be adopted.

At 1:27 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
