The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Committee send a letter to the Press Gallery concerning the situation which occured during the meeting of Thursday, March 23, 2017.

It was agreed, — That the meeting of Thursday, April 13, 2017, be cancelled.

Issues Related to the Enumeration of Rights-Holders Under Section 23 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(f) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, the Committee resumed its study of the issues related to the enumeration of rights-holders under section 23 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

The Committee commenced consideration of a draft report.

At 12:00 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:07 p.m., the sitting resumed in public.

Full Implementation of the Official Languages Act in the Canadian Justice System

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(f) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, the Committee resumed its study of the full implementation of the Official Languages Act in the Canadian justice system.

Claudia P. Prémont made a statement and, with Sylvie Champagne, answered questions.

At 12:37 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:46 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

At 1:00 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
