Debates, p. 18329

Context

On April 16, 2018, Shannon Stubbs (Lakeland) rose in the House to request that an emergency debate be held, pursuant to Standing Order 52, on the construction of the Trans Mountain pipeline.[1]

Resolution

The Speaker ruled immediately, noting that the subject was one of interest to members.

Decision of the Chair

The Speaker: I thank the member for Lakeland for her intervention on this matter, which I know is of interest to many members in the House. I find that it does meet the exigencies of the Standing Order and therefore grant the request for the emergency debate, to be held later tonight.
