Petition to the Prime Minister

Whereas:
  • Ontario is facing a health care crisis which has resulted in the spread of the COVID-19 virus through many long term care homes and a devastating loss of life;
  • Many facilities are overcome with infection;
  • Staffing shortages mean residents are left to live in unsafe and unsanitary conditions and workers are exposed to dangerous working conditions;
  • Families need to know their loves ones are safe and getting the very best care possible;
  • The Premier of Ontario has refused the military assistance offered by the Prime Minister and the federal government; and
  • The Premier of Ontario has failed to mandate necessary measures to protect these vulnerable citizens, both the residents and the staff;
We, the undersigned, concerned citizens of Canada, call upon the Prime Minister to supersede the authority of the Premier of Ontario and command the military to enter and provide assistance to staff and care to the residents of these facilities.
