Petition to the Government of Canada
- The Rohingya Muslim minority in Myanmar have been termed by the United Nations as the most persecuted minority in the world;
- The Rohingya of Myanmar are victims of ethnic cleansing, rape, violence and constant persecution in their homeland;
- More than 100,000 Rohingyas are in camps for Internally Displaced Persons where they face poverty, violence and persecution;
- To escape violence and persecution, many thousands of Rohingyas have fled to neighbouring countries such as Bangledesh that are ill-equipped to care for them; and
- Canada is a country that stands for human rights and the protection of persecuted and endangered minorities.
