E-petition
Initiated by Brad Evans from Kanata, Ontario

Original language of petition: English

Petition to the Government of Canada

Whereas:
  • Executors for the estate of deceased citizens must undergo the onerous task of informing several government agencies of the death;
  • Death certificates are required by several government departments as proof and many certificates are needed;
  • An inexperienced executor may forget to inform all agencies or make errors in performing this task; and
  • It has been observed that the United Kingdom has a 'Tell Us Once' service available to aid executors in the task of informing government departments of a death.
We, the undersigned, Canadian citizens, call upon the Government of Canada to provide a service that will receive one notice from an executor of the death of a citizen and then distribute this knowledge to all interested federal and provincial agencies, such as the U.K's 'Tell Us Once'.
