Petition to the House of Commons in Parliament assembled
- Canada has entered an agreement with the United Nations that all firearms imported into Canada are required to be marked with a unique identifier;
- Current Canadian law does not require a serial number on newly imported firearms;
- The current Firearms Marking Regulations do not satisfy the agreement for a unique identifier such as a serial number;
- The Firearms Marking Regulations would degrade and devalue firearms; and
- The Firearms Marking Regulations would hamper legal trade and cause hardship for licenced firearms businesses in Canada.
