With regard to the November 27, 2025, Memorandum of Understanding between Canada and Alberta and the proposed construction of one or more privately financed and built oil pipelines, with co-ownership and economic benefits for Indigenous peoples: (a) what is the impact of this commitment on projections for Alberta bitumen production and exports for each year from 2026 to 2050; (b) what is the impact of the 1.4 million barrels per day increase in Alberta bitumen on Canada’s greenhouse gas emissions modeling, for each emissions projection scenario and for all milestone years from 2026 to 2050; (c) when would the increase in transportation capacity of an additional 300,000 to 400,000 barrels per day for the Trans Mountain pipeline come online, what work would be required to achieve this increase, what are the expected costs, what is the timeline and what permits and authorizations are required; and (d) for all documentation related to this commitment and these targeted projects, including scientific advice, briefing notes, studies and analyses used by or provided to the Privy Council Office, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat, the Department of Finance, Cabinet and the Prime Minister’s Office, what are the details, including (i) the date, (ii) the sender, (iii) the type of document, (iv) the title, (v) a summary of its contents? |
