| M-104 — December 2, 2016 — Mr. McGuinty (Ottawa South) — That the Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development be instructed to undertake a detailed study with regard to the creation of an Ottawa River Watershed Council, which would bring a comprehensive, inclusive, co-management approach to the Ottawa River Watershed, in order to foster ecological integrity, sustainable economic opportunities, and quality of life; in its study, the Committee shall examine (i) the council membership, which would include, but would not be limited to, federal, provincial, regional, and municipal governments, First Nations, industry groups, non-governmental organizations, and academic institutions, (ii) important indicators such as water quality, biodiversity, and shoreline integrity, in order to assist with the creation of a co-management plan and conservation strategy, (iii) the economic, cultural, heritage, and natural values within the Ottawa River Watershed; and that the Committee report its findings and recommendations to the House no later than December 2017. | M-104 — 2 décembre 2016 — M. McGuinty (Ottawa-Sud) — Que le Comité permanent de l’environnement et du développement durable reçoive instruction d’entreprendre une étude détaillée sur la création d’un conseil du bassin versant de la rivière des Outaouais, qui permettrait une cogestion complète et inclusive du bassin versant de la rivière des Outaouais, afin de favoriser l’intégrité écologique, les possibilités économiques durables et la qualité de vie; dans son étude, le Comité examinera (i) la composition du conseil, qui comprendrait, entre autres, des représentants du pallier fédéral, provincial, de la régional et des municipalités, de même que des représentants des Premières Nations, de l’industrie, d’organisations non gouvernementales et d’établissements d’enseignement, (ii) les indicateurs importants, comme la qualité de l’eau, la biodiversité et l’intégrité de la rive, de manière à participer à la création d’un plan de cogestion et d’une stratégie de préservation, (iii) les valeurs économiques, culturelles, patrimoniales et naturelles du bassin versant de la rivière des Outaouais; et que le Comité fasse rapport de ses conclusions et de ses recommandations à la Chambre au plus tard en décembre 2017. |
| M-105 — December 2, 2016 — Ms. Sgro (Humber River—Black Creek) — That, in light of the death of over 1000 Canadians each year, including the tragic loss of the Honourable Mauril Bélanger, former MP for Ottawa—Vanier on August 16, 2016, as a consequence of Amyotropic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), the House: (a) reiterate its desire and commitment to, in collaboration with provincial and territorial stakeholders, combat ALS via research and awareness; and (b) call upon the government to increase funding for ALS research, and to substantially increase national efforts to develop and launch a comprehensive strategy to assist with the eradication of ALS at the earliest opportunity. | M-105 — 2 décembre 2016 — Mme Sgro (Humber River—Black Creek) — Que, compte tenu du décès de plus de 1 000 Canadiens chaque année, y compris la disparition tragique de l’honorable Mauril Bélanger, ancien député d’Ottawa—Vanier, le 16 août 2016, en conséquence de la sclérose latérale amyotrophique (SLA), la Chambre : a) réitère son souhait et son engagement à lutter contre la SLA, en collaboration avec les intervenants des provinces et des territoires, grâce à la recherche et la sensibilisation; b) demande au gouvernement d’accroître le financement de la recherche sur la SLA et d’augmenter substantiellement les efforts déployés au niveau national pour l'élaboration et le lancement d’une stratégie globale visant à faciliter l’éradication de la SLA, et ce, le plus tôt possible. |
