THE SUBCOMMITTEE ON INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS TO HOLD EMERGENCY HEARING ON THE HUMANITARIAN CRISIS IN ALEPPO, SYRIA

Ottawa, October 28, 2016 -

The Subcommittee on International Human Rights of the House of Commons Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development will hold an emergency hearing on the humanitarian situation in Aleppo, Syria, on November 1, 2016. The Subcommittee has invited a representative of the White Helmets, an organization of Syrian civilians devoted to the rescue of civilians who are the victims of airstrikes. The Subcommittee has invited officials from Global Affairs Canada to provide insight into Canadian initiatives regarding the humanitarian crisis in Aleppo. The Subcommittee will issue a joint statement after the conclusion of the hearing.
