The figure includes two separate graphics. The first graphic, Representation of Certain Designated Groups in the Canadian Armed Forces (as of January 2019), illustrates the representation of women, Indigenous peoples and visible minorities in the CAF as of January 2019 and compares those figures to the CAF targets for representation of these designated groups by 2026: Women – 15.7% as of January 2019, target of 25% by 2026; Indigenous peoples – 2.8% as of January 2019, target of 3.5% by 2026; Visible Minorities – 8.7% as of January 2019, target of 11.8% as of 2026. The second graphic, Representation of Certain Designated Groups in the Canadian Armed Forces by Rank (2018) outlines the percentage of Officer and Non-Commissioned Member positions held by women, Indigenous peoples and visible minorities for each rank. It shows the limited representation of these designated groups among the CAF senior leadership positions, particularly at the General and Flag Officer level as well as Chief Warrant Officer/Chief Petty Officer 1st Class level. Women hold 9.1% of Lieutenant-General/Vice-Admiral positions; 3.1% of Major-General/Rear-Admiral positions; 10.7% of Brigadier-General/Commodore positions; and 7.4% of Chief Warrant Officer/Chief Petty Officer 1st Class positions. The representation of Indigenous peoples at the Flag Officer level is 1.2% of the Brigadier-General/Commodore positions and 1.8% of the Chief Warrant Officer/Chief Petty Officer 1st Class positions. Visible minorities are represented in 3.1% of the Major-General/Rear-Admiral positions and 2.1% of the Chief Warrant Officer/Chief Petty Officer 1st Class positions.
