M-386 — May 26, 2009 — Mr. Watson (Essex) — That the Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills and Social Development, and the Status of Persons with Disabilities be instructed to examine current federal support measures that are available to adoptive parents and their adopted children, recognizing and respecting provincial and territorial jurisdictions in this regard, and following completion of its study, report back to the House with its findings.
M-387 — May 26, 2009 — Mr. Kramp (Prince Edward—Hastings) — That, in the opinion of the House, as the various waterways known as the “Northwest Passage” are historic internal waters of Canada, the government should endeavour to refer to these waterways as the “Canadian Northwest Passage”.
M-388 — May 26, 2009 — Mr. Albrecht (Kitchener—Conestoga) — That, in the opinion of the House, for greater certainty, the government should take steps to ensure that counselling a person to commit suicide or aiding or abetting a person to commit suicide is an offence under section 241 of the Criminal Code, regardless of the means used to counsel or aid or abet including via telecommunications, the Internet or a computer system.
M-389 — May 26, 2009 — Mr. Paquette (Joliette) — That, in the opinion of the House, the government should introduce an amendment to the Employment Insurance Act increasing the maximum number of weeks that special benefits may be paid in the case of illness, injury or quarantine from fifteen weeks to fifty.
M-390 — May 26, 2009 — Mr. Fast (Abbotsford) — That, in the opinion of the House, the government should encourage a reduction of unnecessary packaging based on the draft report of the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment from February 2009.
M-391 — May 26, 2009 — Mr. Fast (Abbotsford) — That, in the opinion of the House, the government should direct the Canada Border Services Agency to change the name of the Huntingdon Port of Entry to “Abbotsford-Huntingdon Port of Entry”.

M-299 — February 25, 2009 — Resuming consideration of the motion of Mr. Trudeau (Papineau), seconded by Mr. Savage (Dartmouth—Cole Harbour), — That the Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills and Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities be instructed to consider the introduction in Canada of a national voluntary service policy for young people by analyzing existing programs and using the work done by the Voluntary Sector Initiative in 2003 as its point of departure; by holding public hearings; and by presenting a report to the House no later than October 2009 that would contain among other things a review of similar policies in the rest of the world and a summary of the evidence heard;
And of the amendment of Mr. Martin (Sault Ste. Marie), seconded by Mr. Cullen (Skeena—Bulkley Valley), — That the motion be amended by replacing the words “October 2009” with the words “November 16, 2009”.
