Q-1202 — April 16, 2009 — Mr. Bachand (Saint-Jean) — With respect to the contract for private motor vehicle (PMV) relocation services and the Department of Defence and the Department of Public Works and Government Services: (a) why did the departments terminate the contract with Colley Motorships Ltd.; (b) when do the departments intend to re-tender the contract for PMVs; (c) when do the departments expect to award the PMV contract; (d) in the meantime, do the departments intend to tender a number of contracts containing a single shipment request so as to remain under the $25,000 limit, in accordance with trade regulations and, if so, will this method be a used as a temporary solution until the final call for tenders; and (e) how many complaints about Autorail Forwarder did the departments receive during the contract period?

M-352 — April 16, 2009 — Mr. Dewar (Ottawa Centre) — That, in the opinion of the House, the government should amend the Patent Act and the Food and Drugs Act to make it easier to manufacture and export pharmaceutical products to address public health problems resulting from HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria epidemics in many developing and least-developed countries.
M-353 — April 16, 2009 — Mr. Davies (Vancouver Kingsway) — That, in the opinion of the House, the exclusion of women from the ski jumping discipline as part of Canada’s 2010 Olympic Games constitutes discrimination against women, and the government should demand, through its appointed Vancouver Organizing Committee (VANOC) board members and by whatever other means are feasible, that VANOC organize, plan, finance, stage, manage, promote and conduct a ski jumping event for women as part of the 2010 Olympic Games.
M-354 — April 16, 2009 — Mrs. Simson (Scarborough Southwest) — That, in the opinion of the House, the government should support the development and adoption of a Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare at the United Nations as well as at all relevant international organizations and forums.
M-355 — April 16, 2009 — Mr. Young (Oakville) — That, in the opinion of the House, the government should create an arms length Independent Drug Agency similar to the Transportation Safety Board and Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, to be responsible for making and keeping Canadians safe when using prescription and over-the-counter drugs, and for reducing injuries and deaths caused by or related to their use.
