Pursuant to Standing Orders 68(2) and 69(1), on motion of Ms. Chagger (Leader of the Government in the House of Commons), seconded by Ms. Freeland (Minister of International Trade), Bill C-24, An Act to amend the Salaries Act and to make a consequential amendment to the Financial Administration Act, was introduced, read the first time, ordered to be printed and ordered for a second reading at the next sitting of the House.

Recommendation

His Excellency the Governor General recommends to the House of Commons the appropriation of public revenue under the circumstances, in the manner and for the purposes set out in a measure entitled “An Act to amend the Salaries Act and to make a consequential amendment to the Financial Administration Act”.


Introduction of Private Members' Bills

Pursuant to Standing Orders 68(2) and 69(1), on motion of Ms. Duncan (Edmonton Strathcona), seconded by Mr. Julian (New Westminster—Burnaby), Bill C-304, An Act to amend the Railway Safety Act and the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, 2012 (transport of dangerous goods by rail), was introduced, read the first time, ordered to be printed and ordered for a second reading at the next sitting of the House.
