[English]

Colleagues, I call this meeting to order. This is the 29th meeting of the Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development.
Before we get started with the in camera committee business today, there's one piece of business we need to take care of.
We welcomed Niki to our committee last meeting, but today I'm assuming there might be some nominations for the vice-chair, but I shouldn't jump to any conclusions.
The clerk has to do this.
Pursuant to Standing Order 106(2), the first vice-chair must be a member of the official opposition.

[Translation]

I am now ready to receive motions for the position of first vice-chair.

[English]

As much as I have enjoyed Ms. Crowder's time here, I will nominate Niki Ashton.
I was tempted to nominate Fin, but—
    Sorry, Dany, you're out.
It has been moved by Mr. Strahl that Ms. Ashton be elected as first vice-chair of the committee.
    (Motion agreed to)
Colleagues, we'll suspend for just a moment to go in camera.
    [Proceedings continue in camera]
