The Standing Committee on Public Accounts met in a televised session at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, David Christopherson, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Dan Albas, Jay Aspin, John Carmichael, David Christopherson, Ted Falk, Alain Giguère, Bryan Hayes and Stephen Woodworth.

Acting Members present: Randall Garrison for Malcolm Allen and Adam Vaughan for Yvonne Jones.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Édison Roy-César, Analyst ; Alex Smith, Analyst.

Witnesses: Office of the Auditor General of Canada: Michael Ferguson, Auditor General of Canada; Frank Barrett, Principal. Royal Canadian Mounted Police: Eric Slinn, Director General, Support Services, Federal Policing. Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development: William Crosbie, Assistant Deputy Minister and Legal Adviser, Consular, Security and Legal. Department of Justice: Janet Henchey, Senior General Counsel and Director General, International Assistance Group.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(g), the Committee commenced consideration of Chapter 2, Support for Combatting Transnational Crime, of the Fall 2014 Report of the Auditor General of Canada, referred to the Committee on Tuesday, November 25, 2014.

Michael Ferguson, C/Supt Eric Slinn, William Crosbie and Janet Henchey made statements and, with Frank Barrett, answered questions.

At 5:19 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
