The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development met at 3:33 p.m. this day, in Room 306, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Dean Allison, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Dean Allison, David Anderson, Lois Brown, Marc Garneau, Peter Goldring, Nina Grewal, Hélène Laverdière, Romeo Saganash and Gary Ralph Schellenberger.

 

Acting Members present: Laurin Liu for Paul Dewar.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Allison Goody, Analyst; James Lee, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: As an individual: Helen Upperton. Doctors Without Borders: Peter Saranchuk, Adviser, Tuberculosis-HIV. International Republican Institute: Michael Druckman, Resident Country Director, Ukraine. National Endowment for Democracy: Carl Gershman, President.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee proceeded to a briefing on World Tuberculosis Day.
 

Helen Upperton and Peter Saranchuk each made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 4:30 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:36 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, February 3, 2014, the Committee resumed its study of the Situation in Ukraine.
 

Michael Druckman and Carl Gershman, by videoconference from Washington, D.C., each made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 5:30 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:31 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

At 5:37 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
