The Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development met at 3:31 p.m. this day, in Room 306, La Promenade Building, for the purpose of electing a Chair, pursuant to Standing Order 106(1).

 

Members of the Committee present: Harold Albrecht, Colin Carrie, François Choquette, Mylène Freeman, Hon. John McKay, Robert Sopuck, Brian Storseth, Lawrence Toet and Stephen Woodworth.

 

Acting Members present: Megan Anissa Leslie for Dennis Bevington.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Tim Williams, Analyst. House of Commons: Emma-Leigh Boucher, Procedural Clerk.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 106(2), the Clerk of the Committee presided over the election of a Chair.
 

On motion of François Choquette, it was agreed, — That Harold Albrecht be elected Chair of the Committee.

 
By unanimous consent, pursuant to Standing Order 106(2), the Clerk of the Committee proceeded to the election of Vice-Chairs.
 

On motion of Colin Carrie, it was agreed, — That François Choquette be elected First Vice-Chair of the Committee.

 

On motion of Colin Carrie, it was agreed, — That John McKay be elected Second Vice-Chair of the Committee.

 

At 3:35 p.m., Harold Albrecht took the Chair.

 

At 3:36 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 3:36 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 

It was agreed, — That the meeting on Thursday, February 6th, 2014, be devoted to the planning of the study on the water quality of the Great Lakes basin, and that the list of witnesses in relation to this study be submitted to the Clerk no later that 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2014.

 

At 3:55 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
