The Standing Committee on International Trade met in camera at 3:33 p.m. this day, in Room 306, The Valour Building, the Chair, Randy Hoback, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Hon. Ron Cannan, Don Davies, Randy Hoback, Laurin Liu, Marc-André Morin, Erin O'Toole and Massimo Pacetti.

 

Acting Members present: Nina Grewal for Russ Hiebert, Wladyslaw Lizon for Devinder Shory, LaVar Payne for Devinder Shory and Blake Richards for Hon. Rob Merrifield.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Alexandre Gauthier, Analyst; Pascal Tremblay, Analyst. House of Commons: David Chandonnet, Procedural Clerk.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Committee defray the costs of hospitality arising from a working lunch to be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 for a delegation of the Committee on Economic Affairs and Energy of the German Bundestag, to a maximum of $1,200.

 

It was agreed, — That, as part of the study on the positive effects of the Global Markets Action Plan, the Committee invite the Chief Air Negotiator from the Department of the Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development and up to seventeen (17) other witnesses to appear before it on the importance of Air Transport Agreements to the Canadian economy, for a total of up to four (4) meetings; and that the members submit their prioritized list of witnesses to the Clerk no later than Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 5:00 p.m.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee undertake a study on the development of trade policies to better support small and medium size enterprises, including increasing trade in services and goods, assisting Canadian exporters to locate and penetrate markets, create well-paying sustainable jobs for Canadians, and report its findings to the House.

 

It was agreed, — That the meeting of Thursday, October 23, 2014 be cancelled.

 

At 4:53 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
