The Standing Committee on International Trade met in camera at 8:44 a.m. this day, in Room 306, La Promenade Building, the Chair, the Hon. Rob Merrifield, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Hon. Ron Cannan, Don Davies, Russ Hiebert, Ed Holder, Brian Masse, Hon. Rob Merrifield, Marc-André Morin, Erin O'Toole and Devinder Shory.

 

Acting Members present: Marc Garneau for Massimo Pacetti.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Alexandre Gauthier, Analyst; Pascal Tremblay, Analyst.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That, in relation to its study of the Canada-European Union comprehensive economic and trade agreement (CETA), the proposed budget in the amount of $19,200 be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That, in relation to its study of the Canada-European Union comprehensive economic and trade agreement (CETA), the proposed budget in the amount of $38,572.82 for the Committee’s travel to Halifax, Nova Scotia, in fall 2013, be adopted and that the Chair present the said budget to the Liaison Committee.

 

It was agreed, — That, in relation to its study of the Canada-European Union comprehensive economic and trade agreement (CETA), the proposed budget in the amount of $48,892.57 for the Committee’s travel to Halifax, Nova Scotia, in fall 2013, be adopted and that the Chair present the said budget to the Liaison Committee.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee travel to Halifax, Nova Scotia, from November 25 to 27, 2013, in relation to its study of the Canada-European Union comprehensive economic and trade agreement (CETA).

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee defray the hospitality expenses related to working meals and receptions to be held during its travel to Halifax, Nova Scotia, from November 25 to 27, 2013.

 

It was agreed, — That, as part of its study of the Canada-European Union comprehensive economic and trade agreement (CETA), the Committee invite the Minister of International Trade and Chief Negotiator to appear on Thursday, November 7, 2013.

 

At 9:16 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
