The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food met at 3:29 p.m. this day, in Room 306, The Valour Building, the Chair, Bev Shipley, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Malcolm Allen, Ruth Ellen Brosseau, Earl Dreeshen, Hon. Mark Eyking, Gerald Keddy, Francine Raynault, Bev Shipley and Bob Zimmer.

 

Acting Members present: Dean Allison for Larry Maguire and James Lunney for LaVar Payne.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Frédéric Forge, Analyst; Khamla Heminthavong, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Canadian Young Farmers' Forum: Kerry Froese, Chair; Paul Glen, Vice-Chair; Guenette Bautz, General Manager; Pierre-Luc Lacoste, Member; Danielle Lee, Member; Larry Spratt, Member; Kimberly Stokdijk, Member.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, February 19, 2015, the Committee proceeded to a briefing with members of the Canadian Young Farmers Forum.
 

Kerry Froese and Guenette Bautz made statements and, with Pierre-Luc Lacoste, Danielle Lee, Kimberly Stokdijk, Paul Glen and Larry Spratt, answered questions.

 

At 5:18 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:25 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

The Chair informed the Committee of the resignation of Ruth Ellen Brosseau as First Vice-Chair.

Accordingly, pursuant to Standing Order 106(2), the Clerk of the Committee presided over the election of the First Vice-Chair.

 

On motion of Mark Eyking, it was agreed, — That Malcolm Allen be elected First Vice-Chair of the Committee.

 

At 5:28 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
