The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food met in camera at 3:31 p.m. this day, in Room 7-52, 131 Queen Street, the Chair, Bev Shipley, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Ruth Ellen Brosseau, Earl Dreeshen, Hon. Mark Eyking, Randy Hoback, Pierre Lemieux, LaVar Payne, Francine Raynault, Bev Shipley and Bob Zimmer.

 

Acting Members present: Pierre Nantel for Randall Garrison.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Frédéric Forge, Analyst; Khamla Heminthavong, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, the Committee resumed its study of the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) and the effects of it on the Canadian agriculture sector.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee append to its report a supplementary opinion, immediately after the signature of the Chair, provided that it is no more than 2 pages in length (Arial 12 point font, double line) and submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the Clerk of the Committee by Monday, March 24, 2014.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Canadian Agriculture and the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement".

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analyst be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

At 4:57 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
