The Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities met in a televised session at 3:45 p.m. this day, in Room C-110, 1 Wellington Street, the Chair, Larry Miller, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Mark Adler, Robert Aubin, Olivia Chow, Joe Daniel, Ed Holder, David J. McGuinty, Larry Miller, Pierre Poilievre, Mike Sullivan and Jeff Watson.

 

Acting Members present: Joe Preston for Lawrence Toet and Peter Stoffer for Isabelle Morin.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Zachary Alaoui, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Fort McMurray Airport Authority: Scott Clements, President and Chief Executive Officer. National Citizens Coalition: Stephen Taylor, Director.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on September 26, 2011, the Committee resumed its study on how competition can make Infrastructure dollars go further.
 

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

 

On motion of Olivia Chow, it was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $ 13,800, for the study on how competition can make Infrastructure dollars go further, be adopted.

 

Mike Sullivan gave notice of the following motion:

That the Committee conduct a study on the factors contributing to the decline in passenger rail service and the future prospects of passenger rail service in Canada.

 

At 5:09 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
