The Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities met at 3:32 p.m. this day, in Room 228, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Larry Miller, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Mark Adler, Robert Aubin, Olivia Chow, Hon. Denis Coderre, Joe Daniel, Ed Holder, Larry Miller, Pierre Poilievre, Lawrence Toet and Jeff Watson.

 

Acting Members present: Jack Harris for Mike Sullivan and Philip Toone for Isabelle Morin.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Alexandre Lavoie, Analyst; Allison Padova, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Prince Rupert Port Authority: Andrew Mayer, Vice-President, Commercial and Regulatory Affairs. Port Metro Vancouver: Peter Xotta, Vice-President, Planning and Operations. Global Container Terminals: Stephen Edwards, President and Chief Executive Officer. Sinclair Group Forest Products Ltd.: Greg Stewart, President; Gregg Koehler, Sales Manager. Halifax Port Authority: George Malec, Vice-President, Business Development and Operations.

 
Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Friday, February 8, 2013, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-52, An Act to amend the Canada Transportation Act (administration, air and railway transportation and arbitration).
 

Peter Xotta and Stephen Edwards, by videoconference from Vancouver, British Columbia, Greg Stewart, by videoconference from Prince George, British Columbia, George Malec, by videoconference from Halifax, Nova Scotia and Andrew Mayer made statements and answered questions.

 

At 5:13 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
