The Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates met in a televised session at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room C-110, 1 Wellington Street, the Chair, Pat Martin, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Scott Armstrong, Denis Blanchette, Kelly Block, Peter Braid, Ron Cannan, Jacques Gourde, Pat Martin, Hon. John McCallum, Mathieu Ravignat and Bernard Trottier.

Acting Members present: Chungsen Leung for Mike Wallace, Rick Norlock for Peter Braid and Ève Péclet for Alexandre Boulerice.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Tina Lise LeGresley, Analyst ; Lindsay McGlashan, Analyst.

Witnesses: Department of Industry: Richard Dicerni, Deputy Minister; Simon Kennedy, Senior Associate Deputy Minister; Kelly Gillis, Chief Financial Officer, Comptrollership and Administration Sector. Department of Transport: Yaprak Baltacioglu, Deputy Minister; Anita Biguzs, Associate Deputy Minister; André Morency, Assistant Deputy Minister, Corporate Management and Crown Corporation Governance, Corporate Services. Infrastructure Canada: John Forster, Associate Deputy Minister; Su Dazé, Assistant Deputy Minister, Corporate Services.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(c)(viii), the Committee resumed consideration of the Supplementary Estimates (B) 2011-2012.

Richard Dicerni made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

Yaprak Baltacioglu made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

John McCallum took the Chair.

It was agreed, — That in relation to the study of the new entity Shared Services Canada, the proposed budget in the amount of $16,500, be adopted and that the Chair present the said budget to the Subcommittee on Committee Budgets of the Liaison Committee.

At 5:33 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
