The Standing Committee on National Defence met in camera at 3:32 p.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Chair, James Bezan, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Chris Alexander, James Bezan, Tarik Brahmi, Corneliu Chisu, Cheryl Gallant, Jack Harris, Hon. John McKay, Christine Moore, Rick Norlock, Ted Opitz and Mark Strahl.

 

Acting Members present: Isabelle Morin for Jean-François Larose.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Wolfgang Koerner, Analyst; Melissa Radford, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, September 29, 2011, the Committee resumed its study of NATO's strategic concept and Canada's role in international defence cooperation.
 

The Committee commenced consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That draft reports be distributed to members of the Committee no less than one week prior to beginning their consideration.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of the Defence of North America, notwithstanding the motions adopted by the Committee on Monday, February 4, 2013, and Monday, February 11, 2013, and further to the budget adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, December 11, 2012, the Committee travel to Victoria, British Columbia, and to Winnipeg, Manitoba, from Sunday, April 21 to Thursday, April 24, 2013, and that the necessary staff do accompany the Committee.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, September 29, 2011, the Committee resumed its study of the Care of Ill and Injured Canadian Forces Members.
 

At 4:39 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
