The Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology met in camera at 9:19 a.m. this day, in Room 8-53, 131 Queen Street, the Chair, David Sweet, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Peter Braid, John Carmichael, Cheryl Gallant, Dan Harris, Hélène LeBlanc, Brian Masse, Phil McColeman, Hon. Geoff Regan, Lee Richardson and David Sweet.

 

Acting Members present: Denis Blanchette for Kennedy Stewart, LaVar Payne for Mike Lake, Susan Truppe for Mike Lake and Terence Young for John Carmichael.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Mathieu Frigon, Analyst; Dillan Theckedath, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, September 26, 2011, the Committee resumed its study of the e-commerce market in Canada.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "E-commerce in Canada: Pursuing the promise".

 

It was agreed, — That, the Committee print 50 copies of the report.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair or his designate, present the report to the House.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108 (2), the Committee undertake a study of the current intellectual property regime in Canada, which will include the important role of intellectual property in Canadian innovation and leading edge technology.

 

At 10:45 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
