The Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics met at 3:58 p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Pierre-Luc Dusseault, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Scott Andrews, Charlie Angus, Charmaine Borg, Alexandre Boulerice, Brad Butt, Blaine Calkins, John Carmichael, Patricia Davidson, Earl Dreeshen, Pierre-Luc Dusseault and Colin Mayes.

 

Acting Members present: Pierre Nantel for Charmaine Borg, Rathika Sitsabaiesan for Charlie Angus and Chris Warkentin for Dean Del Mastro.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Miguel Bernal-Castillero, Analyst; Maxime-Olivier Thibodeau, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Brent Rathgeber, M.P., Edmonton—St. Albert.

 
Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Wednesday, March 27, 2013, and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, April 22, 2013, the Committee commenced consideration of Bill C-461, An Act to amend the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act (disclosure of information).
 

Brent Rathgeber made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 4:25 p.m., pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), the sitting was suspended.

At 5:07 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Questioning of the witness resumed.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

On motion of Chris Warkentin, it was agreed, — That the proposed amendments to Bill C-461 be submitted to the Clerk in both official languages no later than Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at 12:00 p.m., and that the amendments package be distributed to members as soon as possible.

 

At 5:31 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
