The Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration met in a televised session at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, David Tilson, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Don Davies, Rick Dykstra, Roxanne James, Matthew Kellway, Kevin Lamoureux, Chungsen Leung, Costas Menegakis, Rathika Sitsabaiesan, David Tilson and John Weston.

 

Acting Members present: Olivia Chow for Sadia Groguhé, Ève Péclet for Don Davies, Ève Péclet for Matthew Kellway, Bev Shipley for John Weston, Jinny Jogindera Sims for Sadia Groguhé, Bernard Trottier for Ted Opitz and Justin Trudeau for Kevin Lamoureux.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, December 8, 2011, the Committee resumed its study "Standing on Guard for Thee: Ensuring that Canada's Immigration System is Secure".
 

Tom Venner and Todd G. Shean made statements and, with Geoffrey Leckey, answered questions.

 

At 4:30 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:33 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Wendy Loschiuk, Jennifer Stoddart and Andrew Patrick made statements and, with Suzanne Therrien and Gordon Stock, answered questions.

 

At 5:32 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
