Meeting No. 73

The Standing Committee on International Trade met in camera at 3:34 p.m. this day, in Room 268, La Promenade Building, the Chair, the Hon. Rob Merrifield, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Don Davies, Hon. Wayne Easter, Russ Hiebert, Ed Holder, Gerald Keddy, Hon. Rob Merrifield, Marc-André Morin, Annick Papillon, Jasbir Sandhu, Bev Shipley and Devinder Shory.

Acting Members present: Royal Galipeau for Hon. Ron Cannan and Massimo Pacetti for Hon. Wayne Easter.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: June Dewetering, Chief, Macroeconomics and Trade ; Alexandre Gauthier, Analyst.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Clerk of the Committee, in consultation with the Chair, prepare draft budgets respecting the Committee's proposed travel to Santiago, Chile; Lima, Peru; Bogota, Colombia; and Mexico City, Mexico, in relation to its study on the benefits for Canada in joining the Pacific Alliance as a full member and its study on the benefits for Canada of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), for consideration by the Committee.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, the Committee resumed its study of a comprehensive economic partnership agreement (CEPA) with India.

The Committee commenced consideration of a draft report.

At 5:17 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
