The Standing Committee on International Trade met at 11:02 a.m. this day, in Room 306, La Promenade Building, the Chair, the Hon. Rob Merrifield, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Ron Cannan, Raymond Côté, Hon. Wayne Easter, Russ Hiebert, Ed Holder, Gerald Keddy, Hon. Rob Merrifield, Ève Péclet, Mathieu Ravignat, Bev Shipley and Devinder Shory.

 

Acting Members present: Jean Rousseau for Brian Masse.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Alexandre Gauthier, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Sustainable Development Technology Canada: Vicky J. Sharpe, President and Chief Executive Officer. Canadian Environmental Law Association: Theresa McClenaghan, Executive Director and Counsel. C.D. Howe Institute: Daniel Schwanen, Associate Vice-President, Trade and International Policy. Atlantic Institute for Market Studies: Don McIver, Director of Research.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, the Committee resumed its study of the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) with the European Union.
 

Vicky J. Sharpe and Theresa McClenaghan, by videoconference from Toronto, Ontario, made statements and answered questions.

 

At 12:02 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:05 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Daniel Schwanen and Don McIver made statements and answered questions.

 

At 1:03 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
