The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met in camera at 4:09 p.m. this day, in Room 7-52, 131 Queen Street, the Chair, the Hon. Rob Moore, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Ray Boughen, Marjolaine Boutin-Sweet, Paul Calandra, Andrew Cash, Matthew Dubé, Hon. Rob Moore, Blake Richards and Scott Simms.

 

Acting Members present: Mark Adler for Terence Young, Ted Hsu for Scott Simms, Brian Jean for Gordon Brown, Larry Miller for Gordon Brown, Mark Warawa for Terence Young and Jeff Watson for Jim Hillyer.

 

Other Members present: Charmaine Borg.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Michael Dewing, Analyst; Marion Ménard, Analyst.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

At 4:17 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:19 p.m., the sitting resumed.

It was agreed, — That the meeting on Monday, June 3, 2013 be devoted to the selection of witnesses for the study of Bill C-49, An Act to amend the Museums Act in order to establish the Canadian Museum of History and to make consequential amendments to other Acts.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee invite the Hon. James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages and Mark O'Neill, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Museum of Civilization Corporation to appear before the Committee on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 in relation to the study of Bill C-49, An Act to amend the Museums Act in order to establish the Canadian Museum of History and to make consequential amendments to other Acts, and that this meeting be televised if possible.

 

It was agreed, — That on Monday, June 10, 2013 the Committee meeting be devoted to hearing from witnesses in relation to the study of Bill C-49, An Act to amend the Museums Act in order to establish the Canadian Museum of History and to make consequential amendments to other Acts.

 

It was agreed, — That on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 the meeting be devoted to the clause-by clause consideration of Bill C-49, An Act to amend the Museums Act in order to establish the Canadian Museum of History and to make consequential amendments to other Acts.

 

At 4:29 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
