The Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development met at 3:33 p.m. this day, in Room 7-52, 131 Queen Street, the Chair, Chris Warkentin, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Dennis Bevington, Rob Clarke, Linda Duncan, Jonathan Genest-Jourdain, Carol Hughes, LaVar Payne, Greg Rickford, Kyle Seeback, Chris Warkentin and David Wilks.

 

Acting Members present: Scott Armstrong for Ray Boughen, Hon. Hedy Fry for Hon. Carolyn Bennett and Jean-François Larose for Carol Hughes.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Tonina Simeone, Analyst; Norah Kielland, Research Assistant.

 

Witnesses: Office of the Auditor General of Canada: Frank Barrett, Principal; Kimberley Leach, Principal; Scott Vaughan, Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development. National Aboriginal Forestry Association: Harry M. Bombay, Executive Director; Brad Young, Senior Policy Analyst. National Aboriginal Capital Corporations Association: Lucy Pelletier, Chair; Ian Donald, Acting Chief Executive Officer; Kevin Schindelka, Director, Corporate Development.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, November 1, 2011, the Committee resumed its study of Land-Use and sustainable economic development.
 

Scott Vaughan, Lucy Pelletier and Harry M. Bombay made statements and, with Kevin Schindelka, Ian Donald, Frank Barrett, Kimberley Leach and Brad Young, answered questions.

 

At 4:30 p.m., Dennis Bevington took the Chair.

 

At 4:33 p.m., Chris Warkentin took the Chair.

 

At 5:28 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
