The Standing Committee on Finance met in a televised session at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, James Rajotte, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Kelly Block, Robert Carrier, Bernard Généreux, Russ Hiebert, Hon. John McCallum, Hon. John McKay, Ted Menzies, Thomas J. Mulcair, Massimo Pacetti, Daniel Paillé, James Rajotte and Mike Wallace.

Acting Members present: Cheryl Gallant for Kelly Block and Martha Hall Findlay for Massimo Pacetti.

Other Members present: Paule Brunelle.

Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Monday, April 19, 2010, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-9, An Act to implement certain provisions of the budget tabled in Parliament on March 4, 2010 and other measures.

Richard D. Lindgren, Andrew Van Iterson, Jamie Kneen, Denis Lemelin, William Amos, Stephen Hazell and Arlene J. Kwasniak made statements and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

At 4:40 p.m., Massimo Pacetti took the Chair.

At 4:48 p.m., James Rajotte took the Chair.

At 4:52 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:56 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Hubert Thibault, David Phillips, Tracy Redies, Peter White, Michael Ivanco, Neil Alexander and Hugh MacDiarmid, made statements.

At 5:15 p.m., by unanimous consent and pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the Committee continue to sit.

At 5:21 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:48 p.m., the sitting resumed.

The witnesses answered questions.

At 6:31 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
