The Standing Committee on International Trade met in camera at 9:01 a.m. this day, in Room 268, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Lee Richardson, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Dean Allison, Ron Cannan, John Cannis, Claude Guimond, Martha Hall Findlay, Ed Holder, Peter Julian, Gerald Keddy, Lee Richardson, Mario Silva and Brad Trost.

 

Acting Members present: Diane Bourgeois for Jean-Yves Laforest.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Alexandre Gauthier, Analyst; Simon Lapointe, Analyst.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

At 10:03 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:23 a.m., the sitting resumed.

 

It was agreed, — That the Order adopted on Tuesday, February 1, 2011, pertaining to the use of travel points to travel to Washington, DC, be discharged.

 

It was agreed, — That in relation to the study of Canada-United States trade relations, the proposed budget in the amount of $72,928, for the Committee’s travel to Washington, DC, in February-March, 2011, be adopted and that the Chair present the said budget to the Subcommittee on Committee Budgets of the Liaison Committee.

 

It was agreed, — That a joint meeting be held with the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development, in order for officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade to brief members on the issue of the InterAmerican Development Bank.

 

At 10:41 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
