The Subcommittee on Canadian Industrial Sectors of the Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology met at 9:04 a.m. this day, in Room 214, Wellington Building, the Chair, Dave Van Kesteren, presiding.

 

Members of the Subcommittee present: Robert Bouchard, Marc Garneau, Mike Lake, Glenn Thibeault and Dave Van Kesteren.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Terrence Thomas, Analyst. House of Commons: Erica Pereira, Committee Clerk.

 

Witnesses: Department of Industry: François Delorme, Chief Economist and Director General, Micro-Economic Policy Analysis Branch, Strategic Policy Sector; Billy Hewett, Director General, Policy and Sector Services Branch, Industry Sector; Emilee Pedruchny, Director, Sector Intelligence and Analysis, Information and Communications Technologies Branch, Spectrum, Information Technologies and Telecommunications Sector.

 
Pursuant to the motion adopted by the Standing Committee on Industy, Science and Technology on Tuesday, March 3, 2009, the Subcommittee resumed its study of the crisis faced by certain industrial sectors in Canada such as aerospace, energy, forestry, high-tech, and manufacturing
 

Billy Hewett made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

 

At 10:46 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:49 a.m., by unanimous consent, the sitting resumed in camera.

 
The Subcommittee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Subcommittee business.
 

At 11:05 a.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
