The Standing Committee on Health met in camera at 3:33 p.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Joy Smith, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Hon. Carolyn Bennett, Patrick Brown, Colin Carrie, Patricia Davidson, Nicolas Dufour, Kirsty Duncan, Luc Malo, Cathy McLeod, Joyce Murray, Joy Smith, Tim Uppal and Judy Wasylycia-Leis.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Sonya Norris, Analyst; Marlisa Tiedemann, Analyst; Karin Phillips, Analyst.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Committee do study the Health Human Resources issue for a period of two months (March - April 2009).

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee do study the Main Estimates recently tabled in the House and referred to the Committee.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee do study the Supplementary Estimates (C) 2008-2009 on the 10th of March 2009.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee do travel to Nunavut towards the end of May 2009, and that any time left at the end of the period ending in June 2009, will be allocated to other subjects of interest to the Committee.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee do study Bill C-11, An Act to promote safety and security with respect to human pathogens and toxins for three days, with the possibility to extend the study as needed.

 

It was agreed, — That Members submit the names of potential witnesses on Bill C-11 as soon as possible, to the Clerk of the Committee.

 

At 5:19 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
