The Order was read for the consideration at report stage of Bill C-2, An Act to amend the Criminal Code and to make consequential amendments to other Acts, as reported by the Legislative Committee on Bill C-2 without amendment.

Pursuant to Standing Order 76.1(5), the Speaker selected for debate Motion No. 2.

Mr. Comartin (Windsor—Tecumseh), seconded by Mr. Julian (Burnaby—New Westminster), moved Motion No. 2, — That Bill C-2 be amended by deleting Clause 42.

Motions

By unanimous consent, it was ordered, — That, notwithstanding Standing Order 83.1, the Standing Committee on Finance be authorized to present its Report on the Pre-Budget Consultations no later than February 8, 2008, and;

that, during its consideration of matters pursuant to Standing Order 83.1, the Standing Committee on Finance be authorized to adjourn from place to place within Canada and to permit the broadcasting of its proceedings thereon and, that the necessary staff do accompany the Committee.
