The Standing Committee on Human Resources, Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 3:34 p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Dean Allison, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Dean Allison, France Bonsant, Hon. Michael D. Chong, Rodger Cuzner, Ruby Dhalla, Jacques Gourde, Mike Lake, Yves Lessard, Tony Martin, Michael Savage, Hon. Judy Sgro and Lynne Yelich.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Kevin Kerr, Analyst. House of Commons: Miriam Burke, Procedural Clerk.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Committee continue its study on Employability in Canada.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee invite the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development to discuss the Supplementary Estimates (A) on Wednesday, November 28th, 2007 or on Monday, December 3rd, 2007.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee undertake a study on poverty.

 

Tony Martin moved, — That the Subcommittee on the Status of Persons with Disabilities be composed of one member from each of the four parties, to be named after the usual consultation; and that the Subcommittee be granted all of the powers of the committee pursuant to Standing Orders 108(1).

 

After debate, by unanimous consent, the motion was withdrawn.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee study Bill C-265 when Parliament resumes after the Christmas break.

 

At 4:25 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
