The Standing Committee on Veterans Affairs met by teleconference at 11:02 a.m. this day, in Room 112-N Centre Block, the Chair, Rob Anders, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Rob Anders, Ron Cannan, Roger Gaudet, Hon. Albina Guarnieri, Betty Hinton, Gilles-A. Perron, Bev Shipley, David Sweet and Roger Valley.

 

Acting Members present: Ken Boshcoff for Brent St. Denis and Nathan Cullen for Peter Stoffer.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Michel Rossignol, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Department of Veterans Affairs: Ken Miller, Director, Program Policy Directorate; Darragh Mogan, Director General, Program and Service Policy Division.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) the Committee commenced its study of the Veterans Independence Program.
 

Darragh Mogan and Ken Miller made statements and answered questions.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

At 12:12 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:13 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee on Veterans Affairs work with the Department of National Defense and Veterans Affairs Canada to arrange a study tour of Afghanistan operations.

 

At 12:52 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:52 p.m., the sitting resumed in public.
