The Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development met at 3:32 p.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Barry Devolin, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Harold Albrecht, Rod Bruinooge, Jean Crowder, Barry Devolin, Nancy Karetak-Lindell, Marc Lemay, Yvon Lévesque, Hon. Anita Neville, Todd Norman Russell, Brian Storseth and Chris Warkentin.

 

Acting Members present: Dennis Bevington for Jean Crowder and Glen Douglas Pearson for Tina Keeper.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Mary Hurley, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Office of the Auditor General of Canada: Ronnie Campbell, Assistant Auditor General; Frank Barrett, Principal.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on November 20, 2007, the Committee commenced its study of Chapter 3 of the October 2007 Report of the Auditor General of Canada to the House of Commons.
 

Ronnie Campbell made a statement and with the other witness, answered questions.

 

At 4:53 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:56 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget for the Briefing on the outcomes from the National Aboriginal Women's Summit in the amount of $10,300 be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget for the Briefing on the Agreement in Principle among Canada, Québec, and Makivik Corp in the amount of $15,700 be adopted.

 

At 5:12 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
