The Standing Committee on Public Accounts met in a televised session at 3:33 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, the Hon. Shawn Murphy, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: David Christopherson, Brian Fitzpatrick, Jean-Yves Laforest, Mike Lake, Hon. Shawn Murphy, Pierre Poilievre, Jean-Yves Roy, Hon. Judy Sgro, David Sweet, John Williams and Borys Wrzesnewskyj.

 

Acting Members present: Anthony Rota for Pablo Rodriguez.

 

In attendance: House of Commons: Gregory Tardi, Senior Parliamentary Counsel (Legal). Library of Parliament: Lydia Scratch, Analyst; Alex Smith, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: As an individual: Brian Glicksman, Treasury Officer of Accounts, United Kingdom (Retired). Department of Public Works and Government Services: François Guimont, Deputy Minister; Shahid Minto, Chief Risk Officer. As individuals: Frank Brazeau; Kim Casey; Pat Casey; Dominic Crupi; Anthony Koziol; Jeff Molson. Royal Canadian Mounted Police: Fraser Macaulay, Chief Superintendent.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study on the Review of the Roles and Responsibilities of the Treasury Board Secretariat.
 

Brian Glicksman made an opening statement and answered questions.

 

On motion of John Williams, it was agreed, — That the the prepared statement by Mr. Glicksman, be appended to the Evidence of the Committee as if it was read during these proceedings.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(g), the Committee resumed consideration of Chapter 9, Pension and Insurance Administration - Royal Canadian Mounted Police of the November 2006 Report of the Auditor General of Canada.
 

François Guimont made an opening statement and answered questions.

 

Kim Casey and Pat Casey made opening statements and answered questions.

 

Dominic Crupi made an opening statement and answered questions.

 

Anthony Koziol, Fraser Macaulay and Jeff Molson answered questions.

 

At 5: 04 p.m., Brian Fitzpatrick took the Chair.

At 5: 08 p.m., Shawn Murphy resumed on the Chair.

 

The witnesses answered questions.

 

On motion of Judy Sgro, it was agreed, — That the report of the Subcommittee on Agenda and procedure of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts be concurred in, which reads as follows:

Your Subcommittee met on Monday, June 4, 2007, to consider the business of the Committee and agreed to make the following recommendations:

That the meeting scheduled for June 12, 2007, be moved to June 18, 2007, and that on June 12, 2007, a meeting be held on Chapter 9, Pension and Insurance Administration - RCMP to hear witnesses from Great West Life:
