The Standing Committee on Public Accounts met in a televised session at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, the Hon. Shawn Murphy, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: David Christopherson, Brian Fitzpatrick, Jean-Yves Laforest, Mike Lake, Hon. Shawn Murphy, Pierre Poilievre, Pablo Rodriguez, Jean-Yves Roy, Hon. Judy Sgro, David Sweet, John Williams and Borys Wrzesnewskyj.

In attendance: House of Commons: Gregory Tardi, Senior Parliamentary Counsel (Legal). Library of Parliament: Lydia Scratch, Analyst ; Alex Smith, Analyst.

Witnesses: Royal Canadian Mounted Police: Mike Frizzell, Staff Sergeant, Strategic and Operational Support, National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre; Fraser Macaulay, Chief Superintendent; Kevin Mole, Acting Deputy Commissioner, Human Resources; Tony Pickett, Officer in charge, Insurance Renewal and Modernization Project.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(g), the Committee resumed consideration of Chapter 9, Pension and Insurance Administration - Royal Canadian Mounted Police of the November 2006 Report of the Auditor General of Canada.

On motion of David Christopherson, it was agreed, — That the report of the Subcommittee, as amended, be concurred in, which reads as follows:

Your Subcommittee met on Tuesday, May 29, 2007, to consider the business of the Committee and agreed to make the following recommendations:

1. That regarding the study of Chapter 9, Pension and Insurance Administration, Royal Canadian Mounted Police of the November 2006 Report of the Auditor General of Canada, and the motion agreed to on May 16, 2007, that the following witnesses be invited for the meeting of June 4, 2007:

Frank Brazeau

Dominic Crupi

François Guimont, Deputy Minister of Public Works and Government Services Canada

Anthony Koziol

Kim Casey

and on June 11, 2007:

Christian Picard,former Officer in charge of ATIP section

Louis Alberti, Legal Services, ATIP section

Paul Mc Connell

Jeff Molson.

2. That Jean Pelletier, the witness mentioned on the motion agreed to by this Committee on May 9, 2007, be summoned to appear before this Committee on June 6, 2007, at 3:30 p.m. in Room 253-D, Centre Block, following his refusal to appear and to explain himself on the apparent contradictions in the testimonies given to the House of Commons Standing Committee on Public Accounts during the hearings on the November 2003 Report of the Auditor General as well as testimonies before the Gomery Commission.

The witnesses were sworn in.

Mike Frizzell made an opening statement and gave a presentation to the Committee.

Kevin Mole and Tony Pickett answered questions.

Fraser Macaulay made a presentation to the Committee and answered questions.

At 5:42 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
