The Standing Committee on Finance met in a televised session at 3:32 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Brian Pallister, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Dean Del Mastro, Rick Dykstra, Hon. John McKay, Massimo Pacetti, Brian Pallister, Michael Savage, Thierry St-Cyr and Hon. Garth Turner.

 

Acting Members present: Robert Bouchard for Yvan Loubier, David Christopherson for Judy Wasylycia-Leis and David Sweet for Diane Ablonczy.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: June Dewetering, Principal; Alexandre Laurin, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Canadian Federation of Independent Business: Garth Whyte, Executive Vice-President; Corinne Pohlmann, Director, National Affairs; Lucie Charron, Policy Analyst. Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada: Michèle Demers, President; Réal Lamarche, President, Audit, Financial and Scientific Group; Michel Charette, Negotiator. Public Service Alliance of Canada: John Gordon, National President; Betty Bannon, National President, Union of Taxation Employees; Shane O'Brien, Acting Executive Assistant to the National President, Union of Taxation Employees.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and section 89 of the Canada Revenue Agency Act, the Committee resumed consideration of the first five years of the Statutory review of the Act.
 

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

 

At 5:36 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
