| SIXTH REPORT | SIXIÈME RAPPORT |

Pursuant to Standing Order 32(5) and the motion adopted by the Committee on March 21, 2005, your Committee has agreed that, notwithstanding the Fourth Report of the Standing Committee on Health presented in the House of Commons on Friday, February 16, 2005, the Chair shall table two separate reports on the Proposed Regulations Amending the Tobacco Reporting Regulations, as referred to the Committee on Tuesday, December 14, 2004.
Your Committee recommends in this second report, as part of its study of the Proposed Regulations Amending the Tobacco Reporting Regulations, pursuant to the Tobacco Act, S.C. 1997, c. 13, sbs. 42.1(1), that all information to be submitted to Health Canada under these regulations be made public. If need be, the Minister of Health should authorize its disclosure in the public interest in accordance with Section 20(6) of the Access to Information Act. Pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee requests that the Government table a response to the Committee's recommendation in this report. |
Conformément à l'article 32(5) du Règlement et la motion adoptée par le Comité le 21 mars 2005, votre Comité a donné son appui voulant que, nonobstant le quatrième rapport du Comité permanent de la santé présenté à la Chambre des communes le vendredi 16 février 2005, la présidence dépose maintenant deux rapports distincts au sujet du Projet de règlement modifiant le règlement sur les rapports relatifs au tabac qui a été renvoyé au Comité le mardi 14 décembre 2004. Votre Comité recommande dans ce deuxième rapport, qui fait partie de son étude du Projet de règlement modifiant le règlement sur les rapports relatifs au tabac, conformément à la Loi sur le tabac, L.C. 1997, ch. 13, par. 42.1(1), que toute l'information qui doit être présentée à Santé Canada en application de ce Règlement soit rendue publique. Au besoin, le ministre de la Santé devrait autoriser sa communication dans l'intérêt public en vertu du paragraphe 20(6) de la Loi sur l'accès à l'information. Conformément à l'article 109 du Règlement, le Comité demande au gouvernement de déposer une réponse à la recommandation du Comité dans ce rapport. |
