The Standing Committee on Finance met in a televised session at 11:08 a.m. this day, in Room 253-D Centre Block, the Chair, Massimo Pacetti, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Rona Ambrose, Don H. Bell, Guy Côté, Charles Hubbard, Yvan Loubier, John McKay, Maria Minna, Massimo Pacetti, Brian Pallister, Charlie Penson, Monte Solberg and Judy Wasylycia-Leis.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: June Dewetering, Principal; Alexandre Laurin, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Front d'action populaire en réaménagement urbain: François Giguère, President. Canadian Urban Transit Association: Georges O. Gratton, Director General. Canadian Housing and Renewal Association: Joyce Potter, President; Sharon Chisholm, Executive Director. Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada: Christopher Wilson, Senior Public Relations Officer .

 
Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Thursday, May 19, 2005, the Committee commenced consideration of Bill C-48, An Act to authorize the Minister of Finance to make certain payments.
 

François Giguère tried to make a statement.

 

Yvan Loubier moved, — That the Committee proceed to orders of the day.

 

The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to, by a show of hands: YEAS: 7; NAYS: 4.

 

Charles Hubbard moved, — That the Committee adjourn.

 

After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was agreed to.

 

At 12:28 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
