The Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics met at 3:34 p.m. this day, in Room 371 West Block, the Chair, David Chatters, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Navdeep Bains, Ed Broadbent, David Chatters, Art Hanger, Russ Hiebert, Mario Laframboise, Derek Lee, David Tilson and Paul Zed.

 

Acting Members present: Ken Boshcoff for Carolyn Parrish and Marc Boulianne for Johanne Deschamps.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Kristen Douglas, Analyst; Nancy Holmes, Analyst. House of Commons: Jean-Philippe Brochu, Committee Clerk.

 

Witnesses: Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada: Jennifer Stoddart, Privacy Commissioner; Raymond D'Aoust, Assistant Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

 
Pursuant to the Order of the House of Friday, October 8, 2004, the Committee commenced consideration of the Main Estimates 2004-2005: Vote 45 (Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada) under JUSTICE.
 

The Chair called Vote 45 under JUSTICE.

 

Jennifer Stoddart made a statement and, with the other witness, answered questions.

 

Votes 45 and 40 under JUSTICE carried.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair report Votes 45 and 40 under JUSTICE to the House.

 

It was agreed, — That the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure meet on Monday, November 29, 2004, at 3:30 p.m., to discuss future business.

 
It was agreed, — That the Committee meet on Wednesday, December 1, 2004, at 3:30 p.m., with officials of the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada in relation to Vote 45a of the Supplementary Estimates (A) 2004-2005.
 

At 5:25 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
