Mr. Byrne (Humber—St. Barbe—Baie Verte) , seconded by Mr. Price (Compton—Stanstead) , moved the following amendment, — That the motion be amended by deleting all the words after the word “That” and substituting the following:

“Bill C-398, An Act to amend the Food and Drugs Act (food labelling), be not now read a second time but that the Order be discharged, the Bill withdrawn, and the subject-matter thereof referred to the Standing Committee on Health, to report back to the House on or before September 30, 2004.”.

And that clauses 22 to 57 be renumbered and any cross-references thereto accordingly.
